I’m a Junior Software Developer specializing in Web Development, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, and Python or C# for the backend. I work with databases such as SQL Server, SQLite, and PostgreSQL. I build clean, scalable web applications and enjoy solving real-world problems with code.
I graduated at the end of 2022 from Swartland High School, where I received several awards including Entrepreneur of the Year, leadership recognition, and Most Outstanding Boy Camper at my church youth camps. I have always been a strong team player, shaped by years of participation in a wide range of sports including rugby, cricket, athletics, swimming, tennis, golf, chess, squash, and multiple martial arts disciplines. These experiences taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience. During the COVID period, I started and ran a small woodworking business, initially building animal enclosures and later expanding into furniture, tables, crates, and custom projects. This venture taught me practical problem solving, time management, and how to turn skills into real-world results. Alongside this, I became actively involved in audio & visual work for my church, managing live streaming, webcasts, and technical setups — a role I continue to serve in today.
After graduating, I briefly worked as a Team Leader at Handy Tree Fellers in Malmesbury before deciding to focus on growing my woodworking business. In mid-2023, I spent two months in Pretoria working in a construction environment while preparing to begin my studies in software development. Later that year, I relocated permanently to Pretoria to assist with the relocation and setup of my church’s offices. At the beginning of 2024, I was offered a full-time position and started in a general support role, assisting across multiple departments. After four months, I transitioned into the Data & Systems Department, where I currently serve. In this role, I develop AppSheet web and mobile applications to digitize processes, reduce paper usage, and improve operational efficiency. I have also built Excel VBA solutions to automate manual tasks and streamline workflows.
In July 2024, I enrolled part-time for a Higher Certificate in Information Systems: Software Development, which I began in August 2024. I have completed modules in software engineering, database design and management (SQL Server), Linux operating systems, mobile development, and advanced C# programming. I have achieved four distinctions to date and am currently completing my final four modules.
Alongside my professional role, I have delivered live client websites used in production, focusing on clean design, usability, and practical business needs. I am actively growing my Web Development side-hustle for real world experience and client satisfaction.
I am a loyal, dedicated, and committed individual who holds myself to high standards. I believe in building on what already works while always striving for improvement. I am faith-driven, disciplined, and focused on continuous growth — both personally and professionally.
